South Asian Society Showcases Talent, Raises Funds

November 20, 2010

The Georgetown University South Asian Society (SAS) recently held their sixteenth annual "Rangila" cultural showcase to raise funds for the Asha Kendra Hope Center. The event raises over $10,000 every year for the Jaipur, India-based center, which provides vocational training, educational resources, and sustainable development projects to residents and schools in Rajasthan, India's hottest and driest state. The center is exclusively funded by Georgetown's South Asian Society (SAS).

The Rangila show is one of the most highly anticipated cultural events on campus. This year's fundraiser featured 400 dancers, 28 choreographers, and students of every background performing for an audience of nearly 1,500 friends, parents, families, diplomats, and faculty.
