To borrow an analogy from the media scholar Jay Rosen, journalists in 2010 are members of a tribe searching for a new valley to sustain it. How far away is that valley? How many must die along the way? How do we survive the journey? CJR would like to be among the scouts for this passage, and we’re looking for help. We are marshalling our resources, online and in print, to advance the conversation about the survival of serious reporting. Our current goal is $25,000, money that we will leverage for additional support. If you are able to contribute, we are most grateful. Please do so here on our donate page, or by a check made out to the Columbia Journalism Review, c/o CJR, Fund for Journalism’s Future, 2950 Broadway, New York, NY 10027. Contributions are tax deductible. Thank you very much.
