Do you think CBS is happy to televise the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open Saturday? You bet. With Tiger Woods only five shots behind leader Bill Haas and Phil Mickelson only three strokes behind, it's must-watch TV for golf fans.
They haven't felt this way in a while. There's a buzz going on in Southern California, not only with the player of Woods and Mickelson, but also with others. Defending Travelers Championship winner Bubba Watson carded a 65 Friday and is three shots out of the lead. John Daly -- you talk about comebacks, if this guy rebounds it's probably a bigger story than Woods' -- also is three shots back after his 69.
Then the there are two young dynamos: Anthony Kim, in second place after his 67, and Rickie Fowler. He wasn't brilliant Friday with a 71, but he's the guy for the younger fans. He has serious game too.
It would have been great to see the PGA, here in Charlotte, NC but they chose to show ACC Basketball instead!!!! I like basketball, but I was looking forward to see Tiger & Phil again.
