Commission may study lease of Maine turnpike

A bill has been introduced in the Maine state legislature by Senator Douglas Thomas to form a commission to report on future options for the turnpike, including possibility of a lease deal. Other options include merging the Maine Turnpike Authority with the Department of Transportation or having the Department of Transportation oversee the operations of the Maine Turnpike.
