Halong Bay
Halong Bay in the Quang Ninh province of Vietnam, about 100 miles east of Hanoi, is on the short list of finalists for possible New7Wonders of Nature, a global campaign to elect the official new seven wonders of nature. The seven will be named on Nov. 11. Halong Bay has nearly 2,000 limestone islands — many of them hollow, with massive caves. There are several operators offering up excursions on the bay, but Emeraude Classic Cruises says it offers up something a little different.
