Enraged girlfriend accused of setting mechanic's car on fire at dealership
This affair got a little too hot.
Tochara Stephens, the enraged girlfriend of a Maroone Volkswagen mechanic, was arrested for allegedly setting his car on fire at the Delray Beach car dealership, damaging two new cars in the process, Delray Beach police said.
Stephens, 25, of Delray Beach, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of second-degree arson, reports the Sun-Sentinel in South Florida.
A secret love triangle sparked the Sept. 30 incident at the car dealership, the report said.
About 3 a.m., firefighters put out flames engulfing the unoccupied 1998 purple Oldsmobile belonging to dealership mechanic Lefrance Defranc, 24. The fire ended up spreading to a white 2011 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2011 black Volkswagen GTI, causing nearly $8,000 in damage,
according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Stephens was caught red-handed: An officer found her across from the dealership, with two red gas containers and a baseball bat in her car, the report said.
She said she was out exercising.
Defranc told police Stephens grew angry because she found out he was cheating on her with the mother of his son. The mother of Defranc's son didn't know he was cheating on her with Stephens, reports the Sun-Sentinel.
Tochara was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on Thursday on a $10,000 bond.

She didn't need all that drama, now an arrest, all she had to do was beat the guy with those whips on her head.
