Students at Parkville Middle School and Center of Technology were visited Monday by President Barack Obama, who chose the Baltimore County school as a backdrop to highlight what he said was a need to invest in education, despite tough budgetary times. Obama, who unveiled a $3.73 trillion budget for 2012, visited an eighth-grade class in environmental science to demonstrate that, even as his spending plan would cut the deficit by more than $400 billion over the next decade, he would not sacrifice funding for math and science education.

And a couple of conclusions reached jointly, wordlessly — and no less romantically. Just in time for Valentine's Day, we asked a handful of well-known Maryland couples how they got engaged. |
