What is FINS?

I can't remember my username and/or password. What do I do?

Don't worry. Your username is the email you used to create your account. If you've forgotten your password, simply click on the Forgot Your Password link to reset it. If you cannot remember the email you used to create your account, please contact Customer Service.


How do I change my password?

You can change your password by clicking on My Account in the header and then clicking on the "Change Password" link. You can also use this link to reset your password. If you continue to have problems, please contact Customer Service.


How do I change my email address?

To change your email address, please send an email to support@fins.com and include the email you used to register and the new email you would like to use. We will respond to your request as soon as possible.


How do I edit my email alerts or unsubscribe?

To change the frequency of your email alerts or to unsubscribe, simply log into your account and click on Alerts & Subscriptions. If you cannot log in, please contact Customer Service.


I'm experiencing technical difficulties. Help!

If you are having serious difficulties with the site, you can always reach us by sending an email to support@fins.com or by clicking on the Contact Us in the footer.


Do I have to pay for FINS services?

No. All FINS services are free, including our engaging and informative daily newsletter, FINS Morning Coffee.


Do I need to register?

No. You do not need to register to view job listings or research companies and sectors. However, you do need to register to apply for jobs, receive personalized job suggestions, save your search results or subscribe to the Morning Coffee and Weekly Minute newsletters.


Do I need a resume?

No. You can build a professional profile on our site without a resume. However, in order to apply for a job on FINS, you must upload a resume to send to the employer. By uploading your resume, you will also be able to receive personalized job suggestions and make yourself searchable to employers.


Can I edit my resume or cover letter once I've uploaded it?

Yes. Not only can you edit or delete any of your current resumes and cover letters, you can upload up to 10 of each at one time. Also, you can easily update your profile by uploading a new resume at any time.


How do I update my profile?

To edit your profile, click on My Profile or select the My Profile tab within the My Dashboard section of the header. You can edit any of the fields here or upload a new resume to replace the existing information.


Where do the Suggested Jobs come from? How can I refine or change them?

FINS creates personalized job suggestions based on the information in your profile. To modify your job suggestions, adjust the keywords in your "Responsibilities" and "Skills" sections of your profile. We are continuously refining our search results to ensure that you receive the most appropriate jobs. If you have a specific search that you would like to receive updates from, you can also create a custom search alert for Finance. Enter your location and any desired search terms, and every email you get will be specific to your location and interests.


How do I know if the recruiter received my job application?

When you have successfully applied for a job through FINS, you will receive and email confirming your application. However, if you apply directly through an employer's website, you may receive an email from that website but FINS cannot guarantee that your application was received. You will be notified that you have exited FINS when applying for these jobs.


I'm having trouble with my job application. What can I do?

If you are applying for a job that has a banner at the top of the page with text that reads "You are no longer on FINS.com", please look for a contact link on the site to contact the employer directly. If you cannot find any contact links, please send an email to support@fins.com with the title and company of the job you are applying for. If you are applying for a job on FINS (without the banner) and are having difficulty, please send and email to support@fins.com and a member of the FINS will contact you immediately.


What are the rules regarding commenting on articles?

We welcome your thoughtful comments and opinions on our articles. Here are few things to consider when you post:

  • Be respectful of others. Don't attack, harass or impersonate another person. Don't use hateful, offensive or libelous language.
  • Use common sense. Don't include your passwords, social security number, credit card numbers, physical address, etc. Also don't post any proprietary information.
  • Stay on topic by sharing opinions or experiences from your career. Don't post advertising, spam, or links to sites with objectionable content. Don't post viruses or malicious code.
