Deal under $60: Clare Vivier’s bags are 'Red Hot' for Target once more

January 15, 2010 |  2:55 pm

Targetclutch2lo Echo Park-based bag maker Clare Vivier was approached by Target to create a clutch in her unique soft fold-over style for its January Red Hot online shop in conjunction with Daily Candy, which sold out in three days. Of course, Vivier, who makes her bags in Burbank from remnant leather, can quickly turn around 100 bags with a few days' notice -- not bad for someone lacking a ginormous overseas manufacturing facility.

For those who missed the first round of the Clarevivier (that's her line's name) $59.99 snake embossed taupe and gray leather clutch with a red tassel, Target again commissioned Vivier to produce another round of bags, now in black and taupe, available online Monday through Jan. 31, that features a “red hot” tassel and great value for something made by hand domestically.
