Apple have released Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 4 (along with the corresponding Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 9). This is a security update release that includes the critical security fix dealt with in the Java 6 update 24 release from Oracle.
The update will come through the software updater or can be downloaded from the Apple downloads page.
If you've been playing with the JDK 7 Developer Preview release, you might want to follow the link posted on Joe Darcy's blog to the documentation covering Project Coin (small language changes to be included in JDK 7).
Note the documentation also contains discussions on design considerations and any known bugs with the current developer preview build.
