The UTS Academic Board is the principal advisory body to the UTS Council on academic matters.
Academic Board is concerned with policy development as it relates to the University's academic programs in education, scholarship and research, and community service. It refers policy recommendations to Council and discusses matters referred to it by Council.
Academic Board plays a key role in the UTS community in providing a forum for the discussion and debate of the academic directions of the University as well as the quality of its academic programs.
Meetings
Academic Board meets at least six times a year.

Composition and membership
The composition of Academic Board includes ex-officio and elected members and is constituted under rule g3, division 1 of the General Rules of the University.

Academic Board information kit
The Academic Board information kit provides information about Board procedures and background.
The kit is especially useful for new members, returning members who need to refresh their knowledge, or for staff or students generally interested in the operation of the Board.
The 2011 version of the kit will be available soon.
Governance and elections
Academic Board is governed by rules relating to its composition, elections, powers and functions and operates in accordance with its standing orders.

Key focus areas
Each year, Academic Board defines key focus areas and develops a work plan.
Academic Board occasionally conducts forums on key focus areas.
Committees
Academic Board has its own standing committees and boards of studies that advise the Board on a variety of matters pertaining to the academic programs of the University.
