Egyptians opposition movements, civil society activists and bloggers plan to rally on Sunday in solidarity with Tunisians protesting high unemployment in their country, according to rally coordinator Rami Raouf.

Poor employment conditions in the Tunisian town Sidi Bouzid prompted a local young man to set himself on fire earlier this month, sparking widespread unrest.

Clashes between demonstrators and security in Sidi Bouzid, and a number of other Tunisian towns in the south and center of the country, have resulted in one death and several injuries.

Tunisian President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali on Tuesday said the riots hurt the country's image and discourage investment.

The protest is scheduled to be held at Talaat Square in downtown Cairo with the motto "An identical Arab solution for an identical Arab problem." Activists from the opposition Al-Karama Party (under formation), the opposition Labor Party (frozen), the 6 April Youth Movement, and the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information will participate.

The Tunisian government and security services have been using violence against the Tunisian people engaged in peaceful protests, Raouf said.
