Alternatively if you have not previously registered for a trial you can sign up for a 4 week free trial online now. (If your company already has a group licence you may be stopped from taking a trial in which case contact your subscriptions manager or call our customer service team for assistance.)

I am a subscriber to Financial News Online but...

My account is not activated

Upon registration an activation email will have been sent to your email address. Click on the link within the email to activate your account.

For a replacement activation email to be sent to your email address click on the "Resend" link located in the "Notice" section at the top of the page.

If the email address in the "Notice" section is incorrect click on the "Change email address & resend" link and then follow the instructions to complete account activation.

I have forgotten my password

Click "Forgotten your password?" on the top right hand side of the page to initiate the password reset process.

Alternatively click "sign-in" on the top of the page. This will take you through to the sign-in page. From here select the link "Forgotten your username and/or password" from where you will be able to initiate the password reset process.

I don't wish to login at the beginning of each session, but prefer to maintain permanent log-in until I choose to log-out

You will need to select "Remember Me" the next time you login. To do so tick the "Remember Me" box beneath the boxes for your user name and password details. Your details will then be remembered and used the next time you visit Financial News from the same computer. You must have cookies enabled in your browser for this to happen. Please check with your IT department for advice or call us on the customer service number provided.

I would like to change my email address or email preferences

Once you have logged in please select "My Profile" located on the top right hand of page. From here you can change your email address and select the email alerts you would like to receive from a range including Top Stories, Fund Management, Investment Banking and Capital Markets, Private Equity and many more. You can also elect not to receive email alerts from this point.

PLEASE NOTE: you need to be a paying subscriber to be able to amend your email address.

I used the old FNO mobile site via Roundpoint - how does this affect me?

If you have a license to view Financial News Online, you can continue to access our content on your mobile with our greatly improved mobile site. Log-in details for Your Financial News Online log-in details are all that are required to use our mobile site. Bookmarks to the old site should be replaced using the personalised auto log-in URL above to access the new site.

How do I optimise my Blackberry settings for FNO Mobile?

The Blackberry device has a number of important settings that need to be activated to ensure you get the best experience when viewing the FNO Mobile site. To get to the browser configuration setting please use the following instructions:

  • 1. Open the browser

  • 2. Click the menu/options button

  • 3. Select 'Options' from the menu

  • 4. Select 'Browser Configuration' for the next menu

I have forgotten my log-in details - how can I get access?

If you have forgotten your username and/or password you can reset it either on the main website or from the mobile site. On the mobile site go to an article page, which if you are not logged in will display a log-in screen. On this page is a link 'Forgotten your log-in details?' Click on this to be taken through a step by step process for getting your username and resetting your password.

Alternatively if you are already logged in to Financial News Online you can use the auto log-in link to by-pass the log-in process. Details above.

My log in details are not being saved when I log-in on the mobile site - what can I do to fix this?

Some devices are unable to save cookies which are required to save your log-in details. There are a number of things you can try:

  • Check the settings on your device - make sure cookies are enabled if there is a setting for it.

  • Save the auto log-in link (details above) as a bookmark or as your homepage and use this to access the mobile site when you first open the browser on your mobile device. Once you have started the session with this link you should remain logged in for subsequent page views.
