WSJ.com is organized somewhat differently than The Wall Street Journal to make it easier for you to locate information in a Web-based format. For instance, much of the financial data found in The Journal’s Money & Investing section is located in WSJ.com’s comprehensive Markets Data Center. Or visit WSJ.com’s Company Research area to access a comprehensive package of news, quotes, background information and financial data on nearly 30,000 U.S. and international companies. This collection of news and data is presented in an easy-to-navigate format that provides a single source for all of the information you’ll need to track and evaluate a company.
For your convenience, WSJ.com also provides two easy-to-read Site Maps, presenting WSJ.com content alphabetically and by section.
WSJ.com is continually updated 24 hours a day to provide you with up-to-the-minute news in business, government, technology, marketing, the law and more.
You get your first look at articles from the next day’s paper at approximately 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), with most of the major articles and columns that will appear in The Wall Street Journal available online by midnight EST—hours before the paper hits the newsstand. WSJ.com also features constantly refreshed data from the world’s financial markets. Prices and markets activity articles are all time-stamped EST so you know when they were last updated.
Real-time prices available for NYSE, Nasdaq and Amex stocks during market hours as well as during early-hours and after-hours periods. Real-time prices are presented along with standard, comprehensive 15-minute delayed quotes for NYSE, Nasdaq and Amex stocks from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. EST. Volume updates until 8:00 p.m. EST.
Information in the Company Research area is updated at different times throughout the day, depending upon the content. News comes directly from The Wall Street Journal and our Newswires and is updated as it breaks. Visit WSJ.com’s Site Map to see precisely what’s available on this site. • Why are you redesigning WSJ.com?
WSJ.com has been redesigned to enhance the experience and take advantage of new technologies. We listened to our users and worked hard to preserve the elements of the site your like best, while adding new features we think will enhance your experience.
• How will I be able to find the sections that I read every day?
The new WSJ.com has a modern design with streamlined navigation that better exposes the depth and breadth of our content. You’ll be able to quickly locate and access the main sections including: Business, Markets, Tech, Personal Finance, Politics and Opinion.
• Will my password still work in the new site? Will you save my preferences?
Yes. Your Login (your email address or user name) and Password will remain the same. And your personalized alerts, portfolio, and other features and tools that you’ve customized will remain the same.
• How can a non-subscriber identify which articles/features are paid and which articles/features are offered for free on the site?
The Journal’s core business and financial news and analysis, as well as industry and market news, will remain subscriber content and is now identified with a “key” icon. However, all users will still be able to read a preview of each article that is marked with a key.
• Will there be any international elements to the redesign?
Both The Wall Street Journal Europe and The Wall Street Journal Asia sites will have upgraded sections with this redesign, and we are investing in creating a more regionally relevant experience on those areas of the site in the months to come.
