Dr. Mohammed Farooq Sattar is a Federal Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis and the Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs in Pakistan. He was promoted to Senior Deputy Convener, Central Coordination Committee, the highest policy and decision making body of MQM (Mohajir Quami Movement) in 2002. Previously, he was a member of the Central Coordination Committee of MQM (1992-2002). During this time he was also senior minister for local government in the provincial government of Sindh, Pakistan (1997-1998), as well as elected member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh Province (1993-1999) and leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly (1993-1996). Previous to this, he was Mayor of the City Council of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (1987-1992). Dr. Sattar earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS at Sindh Medical College (SMC) in Karachi, Pakistan.
