JEDDAH: A Pakistan Repatriation Council (PRC) meeting over the weekend made a call for a referendum in Kashmir.

“India accepted the verdict of the UN Security Council, which it should fulfill,” Sardar Mohammad Ashfaque, general secretary of the Kashmir Community organization, said in his presidential address.

“The strong presence of Indian armed forces cannot change the minds of Kashmiris who are seeking their basic right to self-determination," he said and called for increasing awareness of the issue and a referendum.

He also wanted Pakistan to take urgent measures to solve the issue of Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh.

Syed Neaz Ahmed, president of the Pakistan Writers Forum, said a lot of effort was needed at an official level to highlight the Kashmir issue with the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

He regretted the delay in repatriating thousands of Pakistanis who remain stranded in Bangladesh.

Gulab Khan said: "Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah called Kashmir our 'key nerve,' which remains occupied by India for over 60 years. No other proposal will work except a referendum there."

He added that the issue of stranded Pakistanis is not as complicated as Kashmir and could be solved easily if the government showed it was serious about resolving the issue.

Shaikh Mohammad Luqman criticized the UN's alleged double standards, as he said it played a key role in pushing through referendums in East Timor and Sudan, but had failed to fulfill its commitment for one in Kashmir for over six decades.

PRC Convener Syed Ehsanul Haque said the OIC was the right body for raising the issue in the UN Security Council and seeking the

The demand for plebiscite by kashmiris is most genuine and uno should have done it long back specially when it is quickly done in East Taimur and Sudan. UNO must arrange the plesbiscite in kashmir to let them decide their future. as far as issue of stranded pakistanis, it is the responsiblity of president and prime minister to arrange their repatriation and settlement in pakistan since there is no other to play any role.

Kashmir is an internal part of India. Pakistan should release the occupied land in Kashmir and mind their own business and stop terrorising by supplying Weapons and islamic terrorist.

How it will be for Pakistan to release Balochistan and make an independent state, as Pakistan got seperated from India as well as from Bangladesh. And may innocent muslims are dying by missiles shot by America in under developed area of Balochistan.

We indian muslims from Kerala to Kashmir will fight for our Mother Land. If pakistan interferes more in Kashmir, we Indian Muslims around 190+ millions will be your enemy. Pakistan can be India's good friend if they stop interfering in our Kashmir and stop supplying weapons, stop recruit islamic muslim terrorist and stop thinking to plan any war like Kargil in future. We Indian muslims feel proud when Pakistan did something good for their nation even when they build Nuclear Weapons, because 90% of the Pakistanis are muslims. All muslims are brothers in islam. When pakistan interferes in Kashmir they will be first enemy of indian muslims.

Referring to the mail of " Indian Muslim " the writer should have the courage to put his name. His message of 190 millions Muslims going to fight Pakistan is absurd. What is important is that the plebscite was agreed by India in UN in 1948 so India has to fulful it's promises. We are not asking plebiscite in UP or Bihar, Madhya pardesh that the " Indian Muslim " should ask plebiscite in Balochistan, this is also an absurd comparison. the writer should know that the world is changing and to suppress basic rights of people can not be continued for long..

Standard Pakistanis will remain in Bangladesh, they have a better future there than in Pakistan why waste your time and mouth. the same with Kashmir. practically speaking pakistanis are not interested in the well being of kashmiri;s but the land and water resources that originate in Indian Kashmir. Pakistan has ceded large parts of Kashmir land to China, What is the condition of Kashmiri's POK?? its easy to instigate people in the name of islam and make their lives miserable. Guys remember as the taleban came back hitting you hard, days are not far when LET and other thugs created in the name of freedom come after your lives. I think you guys need to be more honest to yourselves. Its easy to sit in the comfort of Saudi Arabia and give big lectures. (omar_online1@yahoo.com)
