Sanctions for Iran; Investigating the Academics

An editorial in the L.A. Times sees an Iran that is “riding high these days,” with nuclear progress and Iraqi destabilization humming right along. However, the article warns, talk of military action is counter-productive; US interests would be better served by economic sanctions.
Meanwhile, the N.Y. Times reports that the Iranian government has concluded its investigation of Haleh Esfandiari and Kian Tajbakhsh, the two Iranian-American academics who were arrested in May on espionage charges.
