    The House passed the GOP-drafted short-term 2011 Federal Continuing Resolution by a vote of 335-91.

    After a closed-door meeting today with Senate Democratic leaders, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) held a news conference and said he will soon bring the bill to the Senate floor for a vote, where it will likely be approved. He went on to say that he expects President Obama to sign it within in the coming days. More »

    Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner today called on Congress to pass legislation within two years that would dissolve Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-controlled home mortgage companies. Testifying before the House Financial Services Committee, the Secretary outlined the Obama Administration’s proposals for the future of the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which were unveiled just over two weeks ago.
