Steve Evanson, series producer on Coast, ran a masterclass on the popular BBC series during the Birmingham Storytelling Festival.
Steve explained how his team uses journalism tools throughout the programmes' production, from researching story ideas to sourcing contributors and script writing.
This film starts with a video montage of Coast's first series.
