Octogenarian attempts Atlantic crossing on raft of pipes

Octogenarian Anthony Smith is leading an attempt to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a raft made out of pipes.

The crew of four are aiming to raise money for the international charity WaterAid.

Anthony Smith, 84, said he took up the challenge to prove there is more to being an octogenarian than a trip to the shops.

The World Today spoke to Mr Smith on a satellite phone from his raft in the Atlantic Ocean.
