Democracy’s Hero: Anatoly Lebedko
Anatoly Lebedko, one of the most prominent pro-democracy leaders in Belarus, is facing up to 15 years in jail because of his peaceful protest against the regime of Alexander Lukashenko.  Despite this, Lebedko is an outspoken defender of human and political rights.
A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, IRI advances freedom and democracy worldwide by developing political parties, civic institutions, open elections, democratic governance and the rule of law.
