My meeting with President Obama
So I wanted to share this picture with you guys.
I got to meet President Obama a few days ago when he was in town to speak in Dorchester. I don’t get star struck that easily, but man … it was pretty cool!
I admire what he’s been able to do so much. I also had a chance to tell him about my charity program – FitClub34. Michelle Obama’s program Let’s Move has the same goals as my program – to increase nutrition for kids ... makin' sure our kids are eating right, exercising and being healthy.
He loved some of the things we’ve been doin', which made me feel real good. I’m hoping we will get to work together soon.
By the way, I think I’m really racking up my presidential run-ins! Back when we won the championship in 2007-08 I got to go to the White House … take a tour and meet President Bush. That was awesome to get an inside look at what goes on day in and day out.
And just back in the fall of 2009 I went to the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in New York and met President Clinton. I got to take a pic with him and Usher – got star struck again that time! I talked to him a lot about my program – at the time I just launched it. It ended up working out, cuz I partnered with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation (a partnership between the Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association) to help fight childhood obesity and it’s been great so far.
Anyway, those were some really big moments for me! I feel really lucky to have gone through those experiences ... Just wanted to share!
Now back to the court.
