Tales from the Sahel

The musician Baaba Maal (above) and actor and playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah discuss how the mythical Fula tales from Senegal have inspired many people in modern Africa and why they want to bring these stories to a British audience in their new show together 'Tales from the Sahel'.

Latvian Remembrance Day

A new production at London's Royal Court Theatre to tie in with Remembrance Day in Latvia. It's a modern look at the split between those who fought for the Nazi's and others who joined the Red Army - and how these historical tensions manifest themselves in society today.

Tavares Strachan

This conceptual artist has put his body at the service of his work. He's trained as a deep sea diver and as a russian cosmonaut and physically carved and moved a block of ice from the Arctic. In "Sometimes Lies are Prettier", his first British solo exhibition, he explores the story of the little boy who, shortly after becoming Tibet's 11th Panchen Lama, was taken into custody by the chinese authorities and hasn't been seen since.
