Newshour editor Lucy Walker and Lyse Doucet show off their gold awards

A MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR

2010 is already proving a very good year for Newshour. In May, Newshour won Gold for Best News and Current Affairs programme at the Sony Radio Academy awards in London and presenter Lyse Doucet won Gold for Best News Journalist at the same event.

It is cheering to receive such high praise from our peers in the British radio industry, but it is our global audience that is at the heart of what we do. Each day we bring you the latest updates, comment and analysis on the major news and trends around the world, interviews with people at the centre of the news, discussions and the best reportage from the BBC's network of correspondents.

We make two editions of Newshour each day. You can listen on the BBC World Service and via our network of partner stations. If you miss a programme, listen again click here or get a free download of the programme by signing up for our Download podcast.
