An Australia boy is an Internet hero after an online video shows him fighting back against a bully. Jeff Glor reports.
In Australia, a bullying victim has become an Internet hero after he turned the tables on his tormentor. And it was all caught on tape Monday.
Casey Heynes is seen backed up against a wall, being punched several times by a younger, smaller boy.
Suddenly, Casey body-slams the alleged bully, sending him scampering off.

Obamas crusade to stop bullying
Footage of the fight at Chifley College, Dunheved Campus at North St. Mary's has since gone viral, with hundreds of comments garnered on Facebook -- many in support of Casey.
According to the Sydney Telegraph, both students were suspended for four days after the incident.
Casey's father told the Australian publication on Tuesday his son had been the victim of bullying for several years and feared for his safety if he spoke about the fight.
"There'll be reprisals from other kids in the school and he still has to go to school somewhere," he said.
"He's not a violent kid; it's the first time he's lashed out and I don't want him to be victimized over that.
"He's always been taught never to hit. Apparently, other people's parents don't teach their kids that."
One student interviewed by the Sydney Telegraph said, "People pick on (Casey) every single day, they hit him around and stuff, and he just got sick of it and let out the anger."

- Looks to me like the little hoodlum got exactly what he deserved. He was looking for trouble and trouble is what he found. Anyone who has been in these types of situations knows that if you are not going to stand up for yourself, the bullying will only get worse and there is nothing redeeming about looking like a punching bag in front of the whole school. Better to beat the crap out of anyone that steps to you in this manner and be suspended and the bullying ended, then to have this little prick on your kids back everyday and maybe his lunatic friends looking for an easy mark too. His Mother must be a loon also if her only concern is that her bratty kid got what was coming to him and she disregards what he was doing in the first place that led to his consequent butt whipping. An Apology? I think not!

- I find the father's reasoning very strange. He says that his son has been bullied for years, one student saying "every day", and that he (the father) has taught his son not to hit back. Anyone knows that by not hitting back you guarantee getting bullied again. What an idiot.

- "n, he suffered a grazed knee in the incident."
LOL, looks from the way he was hobbling around unable to stand up that he had a lot more than a "grazed knee" - Reply to this comment
- New development, and "be afraid", why? because hacker groups, let loose to do vigilante justice could rule the world. Think i'm wrong? If one person upsets them, they could do anything to them, bank accounts, home, put their face on a movie, or everywhere doing anything. that's a problem the government needs to address immediately. They can shut down anything, in large enough tech groups, sharing information. And they are going after the school, ok, but what's next, and there is no law in hacker land.
Hope someone with real authority is looking into this. It is a worse threat than we realize. http://offthebench.nbcsports.com/2011/03/17/hacktivist-group-takes-down-school-web-site-of-bullied-australian-kid/ - Reply to this comment

- First, Hooray for Casey!!! What I want to know is where is the school Administration while Casey is being bullied. I thought schools where suppose to come down hard on bullies. Casey's dad said that this is a daily occurrence. How sad it must be for Casey to endure this treatment every day without any authority figure at the school to support or PROTECT him!! Again, Hooray for Casey!!

He's lucky to be alive?, the rest of us- especially Casey unfortunately arent lucky he is still alive, this one is trouble, this is where it STARTS and he'll be in the news again either after shooting someone, or some other violent act, probably when he brings a gun or knife to school to settle the score.
Little chits like him live for revenge, everyone would be better off if when he was thrown down, his skull was cracked wide open.

death or permanent brain damage is hardly an appropriate response for a bullying kid.
maybe all the 'town folk' could rally together ... find a nice tree ... and string him up.
