As supporters of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi start moving eastward in an effort to push the rebels back and recapture fallen towns, the fighting looks set to intensify.
In the city of Misurata, rebels were filmed celebrating their victory over Gaddafi's forces. But there has been more fighting there and rebels say they fear government forces are regrouping.
Past Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte lies Ras Lanuf where pro-Gaddafi forces are bombarding the oil-rich city, allegedly killing at least three people on Monday.
Al Jazeera's Laurence Lee reports.
