Dead, missing in Japan revised to more than 21,000

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) - More than 21,000 people are dead or missing in Japan as a result of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, according to a report by national broadcaster NHK, which cited updated police figures. The number of confirmed dead has risen to 8,649, and the number missing is 12,877, the report said. About 250,000 people are living in temporary shelters.
