Northern Ireland keeper Taylor to miss Serbia qualifier

Birmingham City goalkeeper Maik Taylor has pulled out of Northern Ireland's Euro 2012 qualifier away to Serbia on Friday because of a shoulder injury.

Linfield's Alan Blayney has been called up as his replacement.

Nottingham Forest keeper Lee Camp is expected to make his Northern Ireland debut by starting in Belgrade.

Rangers midfielder Steven Davis will miss the game with a hamstring injury, which could also keep him out of Tuesday's qualifier against Slovenia.

The absence of Davis is a massive blow to the plans of NI manager Nigel Worthington.

Davis scored the opening goal in Rangers' 2-1 victory over Celtic in Sunday's Co-operative Insurance Cup final.

Northern Ireland have had a mixed start in the qualifying campaign, beating Slovenia, drawing with Italy and then the Faroe Islands in their last competitive outing.

Friday's game will be played behind closed doors after trouble flared at Serbia's game in Italy in October.

However, 200 Northern Ireland fans have been given special dispensation by Uefa to attend.

Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic is ruled out of the Serbia team for Friday.

Central defender Vidic has been suffering from a calf injury.

"Coach Vladimir Petrovic spoke to Vidic and it's been decided that he should stay with his club Manchester United for further treatment," said a statement on the Serbian FA website.

United captain Vidic has missed his club's last two games, Tuesday's 2-1 Champions League win over Olympique Marseille and Saturday's 1-0 league victory against Bolton, after picking up a knock in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Arsenal earlier this month.

Birmingham City striker Nikola Zigic is also doubtful as he is recovering from a groin injury.
