The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemns the attacks against its diplomatic missions in Iran and holds the Iranian government fully responsible for the protection of all members of the missions on its territory, in accordance with international laws and conventions, says an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Saudi Foreign Ministry has lodged a formal protest with the Iranian government, the official noted, adding that the Kingdom will consider what steps to take in light of the Iranian response.

Two separate attacks were recorded over a 48 hour period against Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran, Asharq Al-Awsat reported today. The Saudi Embassy in Tehran came under attack from demonstrators last Thursday, with stones being thrown at the building, and the Saudi consulate operating in Mashhad was subjected to an attack by Iranian groups on Saturday, according to the newspaper.
