TV is becoming much more social, or at least digitally social, like so much in life these days.
Hulu is the best I've seen at social integration. It allows you to email, embed and post videos, as well as talk to friends and share within Hulu itself.
I also like that it lets you create and share playlists. This is something I desperately want from Netflix. I'd love to be able to create lists of my favorite movies by genre, and I'd especially love to look at other people's lists. Why can't I do this?!?

Netflix was my first experience with online streaming of movies and TV, and it will always hold a special spot in my media mix. But with all the new competitors popping up, it seems like Netflix is having a hard time keeping up.
Recently, I've gotten a few really poor Netflix reviews from readers. The main gripe is poor streaming selection, and I agree. If you want anything that was a commercial success in the last ten years, you're probably out of luck.
I don't bother to pay for the DVD-by-mail service - I had too many problems with scratched disks, and managing the queue was too much work! Instead, I go for the instant gratification of on-demand with Amazon VOD. I may pay a little more per month than I would for the full Netflix package, but I get exactly what I want, when I want it.
