Sainte-Chapelle, Paris

Wednesday April 27, 2011

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would I find you?

You'd find me here, in the shimmering Gothic church of Sainte-Chapelle in the heart of medieval Paris, France.

I love Paris at any time of year, but the City of Lights is magical in the springtime. The French have a way with public gardens, and there's nothing nicer than wandering the avenues and boulevards of Paris, perhaps stopping in at one of the city's fine museums or restaurants. And Sainte-Chapelle - well, you can see for yourself. The stained glass windows glow. The exterior, with its flying buttresses, is equally beautiful. No wonder kings and bishops have been inspired by this lovely jewel of a church for hundreds of years.

Of course, I have many favorite spots in Paris. Which sights in Paris inspire you?

Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Update

Tuesday April 26, 2011

According to CNN, Lambert-St. Louis International Airport will operate at full capacity today, just four days after a tornado slammed into the facility.

The airport has not updated its website in two days, but an official Twitter update posted late last night stated, "A full flight schedule on tap @flystl Tuesday."

It's always best to check with your airline before leaving for the airport, particularly in a situation like this. Kudos to all the hardworking people at Lambert-St. Louis for their dedication to the recovery effort.
