Google News has stopped indexing most recent stories since 17th March Report abuse

Hi,

Not really sure that this is the best way to get technical help but here goes.

Techgoondu (www.techgoondu.com) never had a problem with Google News since two years back when we applied to be indexed.

But it seems that since the 17th of March all our latest stories have not been indexed... I've checked my sitemap and it seems ok. Nothing has changed with our editorial policy -- in fact we've more writers now writing stories, all of which are original.

Can anyone can help point me to any solution if we're doing something wrong?

  Thanks for the advice folks!

Hi Chi-Loong,

The dates that we determined for some of your recent articles, either from a <publication_date> tag in the Sitemap, or from a date in the page HTML itself, are too old. Make sure your articles are less than 2 days old, as we're currently only collecting articles that are 2 days old or less.
Please see the reference from our Help Center for additional information.

I having trouble getting to the root of the problem. Could someone point out what I'm doing wrong?

We're using a wordpress plug-in called Google Sitemaps that automatically builds our sitemaps:
view-source:http://www.techgoondu.com/sitemap.xml

It fits the schema of Sitemap.org
http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.php

The dates of our newest articles are within your 2 day timeframe. I've checked my Google webmasters account and all the articles that it mentioned as "too old" are not the articles that we want indexed. They were stories that were posted some time ago.

There are at least a few articles (more than five)  that have been recently posted that should be indexed:

E.g:
http://www.techgoondu.com/2011/03/21/singapore-supermodels-four-square-and-reality-tv/
http://www.techgoondu.com/2011/03/22/eabioware-lied-on-not-using-securom-on-dragon-age-2-says-reclaim-your-game/

If I'm doing something else wrong -- e.g. I need to setup a new sitemap tool -- please let me know.

Please help -- I don't where to proceed from this. Thanks.

Hi,

We've found a plug-in that creates Google Site Maps in the structure that Google News needs.

  http://www.techgoondu.com/google-news-sitemap.xml
This sitemap is running in addition to our old sitemap.

The tick mark is green for this new sitemap in our Google Webmasters account, (9 stories to be indexed, all recent since 2 days ago) but none of the stories are indexed by Google News.   On average count, we have a few new stories every day, and none are indexed.

Can someone help? Please? At least let us know what went wrong, what we can do about it (nothing it seems). Thanks.

Hello

From what I gather, the sites at least  my site www.atibaia.com.br, are being indexed, but incorrectly, out of date order.

An article published in atibaia.com.br, 22 hours ago, appears only on the third page, while other news by other sites, related to the term "atibaia", appear on previous pages, but with dates of days ago.

It seems that the filter system and placement of stories indexed gone crazy and erratic, or filtering by other index than the date of publication.

Sorry bad English, the translation is courtesy of the Portuguese Google Translate ..:-)

We're having the same problem. Our posts disappeared from Google News a couple of days ago. We used to do really well for Google News in our city "Fayetteville, AR", but now we're nowhere to be found.

Here's hoping the engineering team is able to resolve this issue.

Thanks for listening.
