Many resorts in western Canada received fresh snow. Around 30cm fell at Silver Star (180/243cm) and Big White (294cm). Both resorts have enjoyed a snowy March and this week was no exception. They have excellent base depths and this should ensure a good final part of the season.

6cm fell at Kicking Horse (216cm) too. Five of their six lifts were running on Thursday 31st March. Nearby Revelstoke (266cm) received 10cm of fresh snow too, taking their season snowfall so far to 1000cm.

There wasnt any fresh snow on the east coast but our three east coasts resorts are all open. Blue Mountain (70cm) was operating five lifts on Thursday and offers spring skiing conditions. It's only small but is worth a visit if you're in the Toronto area, being a two hour drive away.

Squaw Valley in California is expecting more spring like weather after the recent huge snowstorms. This is perfect to enjoy all the snow and the clear weather will provide some stunning views of Lake Tahoe.

Utah is expecting similar weather, although it could get quite cold on Sunday. 11cm of snow is forecast on Saturday night before the brief cold on Sunday. By Monday it should be mild and sunny again.

It won't be as warm in most of Canada though. Snow is forecast to fall at Whistler on and off over the weekend and next week, with up to 30cm forecast by Tuesday 5th April. Similar weather is expected further inland at Banff, where snow is expected on and off. It should be a little colder though with night temperatures down to -21C.
