France has welcomed some fresh snowfall this week. Some resorts received as much as 30cm and the upper slopes have been refreshed as a result. Unfortunately some of the lower slopes suffered a little in the rain but once above around 1800m, the skiing is much improved.

Both Val d�Isere (53/131cm) and Tignes (53/131cm) received 30cm of fresh snow on Wednesday 30th March and the Ski Club Leader in Tignes said the snow up on the Grande Motte was superb and some of the best snow all season. There is a contrast in the snow up high with the snow lower down though which is a little heavy in places. 25cm fell in Argentiere (0/190cm) too although once again up high is where the best snow is; head up to the Grands Montets early to take advantage of the great skiing up there. In Flaine (10/188cm) the upper slopes were covered in powder on Wednesday 30th March after 10cm of fresh snow fell.

Only a small amount of snow is expected across France this week in a predominantly sunny week. There is a chance of the odd snow and rain shower but on the whole bright weather is on the cards. Night time temperatures will drop to -5C or lower up high which will be crucial for retaining snow cover.
