Most of America is enjoying all that fresh snow that fell over last weekend. Plenty of deep powder can still be found across many resorts in California, where more than four metres of snow fell last week. Mammoth (518/823cm) still has a massive base depth. They usually offer skiing well into May or even June but this season they could be skiing way into July. Squaw Valley (227/635cm) has extended its ski season too. They now plan to close on 30th May.

Utah has had a snowy winter too and it isn't over yet. Snowbird (417cm) received 13cm of fresh snow earlier in the week. Conditions are superb and with milder weather on the way there should be some great spring skiing on offer.

Many resorts in Colorado received loads of snow this week as well. Around a metre of fresh snow has fallen on Vail (216cm) and Breckenridge (272cm) in the past week. 35cm was the biggest dump and this fell on Tuesday.

Squaw Valley in California is expecting more spring like weather after the recent huge snowstorms. This is perfect to enjoy all the snow and the clear weather will provide some stunning views of Lake Tahoe.

Utah is expecting similar weather, although it could get quite cold on Sunday. 11cm of snow is forecast on Saturday night before the brief cold on Sunday. By Monday it should be mild and sunny again.

It won't be as warm in most of Canada though. Snow is forecast to fall at Whistler on and off over the weekend and next week, with up to 30cm forecast by Tuesday 5th April. Similar weather is expected further inland at Banff, where snow is expected on and off. It should be a little colder though with night temperatures down to -21C.
