AWS Training

Our training courses give the attendees the chance to get cloud hosting working for them, quicker and with the confidence to use it straight away

13th April 2011
10am – 4pm. 1 hr break for lunch
20 seats are available on a first come first served basis

This day session will take you in detail, through managing cloud hosting, how the environment differs from dedicated hosting in practice. Based on real-world scenarios we’ll show you how to plan, manage and deploy to the cloud.

We’ll cover the scaling issues, some of the known limitations and how native cloud technologies (SimpleDB, S3, RDS etc) can be used to solve specific scaling problems in production sites and legacy systems.

Technologies covered will be the AWS core hosting services – EC2, S3, RDS and related.

There are dozens of scenarios where cloud hosting leaves dedicated in the dirt: ad hoc snapshots of the entire server farm; creating a mirror of your live environment for an afternoon; increasing disk sizes while you do some house-keeping; and, shrinking your server farm to save money.
