Just days before a ban on the full face veil starts in France, Sir David Frost is joined by British politicians Salma Yaqoob and imam Taj Hargey to discuss whether France has made the right decision. Plus, Guma El Gamaty discusses the situation in Libya and Knox Chitiyo talks about events in Cote d'Ivoire.
Don't let this Taj dude fool you. He's a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I don't like the burqa at all, I think it is an anti-social piece of clothing and actually emphasizes the sexuality of a women by completely hiding everything. But I can't think of any reason why it should be forbidden by law. Ofcourse if you get pulled over by the police you should show your face, that's clear. But taking away someone's freedom to wear whatever he or she pleases when going outside is not what a government should be doing. I think the women in this viedo explains this very well.

I'm not a Muslim but I can't understand why people care so much if some women want to wear the burqa. If you ban the burqa, you are imposing on somebody else's freedom. If somebody wears a burqa, they are not imposing on anybody's freedom whatsoever.
Are some people offended by the burqa? If you are, they are not offending you deliberately...you are choosing to be offended. You can't expect to live in a democracy and not be offended.

One thing that really worries me is how racist Western women have a vested interest in apologizing for the headscarf. It keeps a substantial number of non-white women locked away from the public arena. As long as religion keeps non-Western women from emancipating, they can never offer true competition to Western women. Not for jobs, and not for men.
There is a rising supremacist mentality among Western women which seeks to ensure non-white women cannot attain the status the Western woman has.
