The Alliance of Egyptian Revolutionaries denounced Hosni Mubarak in the wake of his emotional ‎speech, branding the deposed president a ‘subtle actor’.‎

Mubarak, who was ousted on 11 February after an 18-day uprising, claimed that he and ‎his family members have been unfairly accused of illegal profiteering.‎

The 82-year-old and his family have been under house arrest in Sharm El-Sheik ‎pending an investigation. The past few weeks have seen protesters relentlessly calling for the trial of Mubarak and his family. ‎

Apparently, the recorded speech, which was exclusively televised on Saudi satellite ‎channel Al-Arabia, only added fuel to the fire. ‎

‎“After the insincere speech of ousted president Hosni Mubarak, who’s accused of ‎stealing Egypt’s wealth and leading a gang of killers and thieves … who also kept ‎repeating two words in ‘I decided’ and ‘I agreed’ as though he’s still Egypt’s ‎president, we felt that we are in front of a subtle actor,” read a statement released by ‎the Alliance of Egyptian Revolutionaries. ‎

‎“He reminded us of [late] prominent actress Amina Rizk when she would produce one of ‎her tragic performances, to make us all shed tears. Why, Mubarak, didn’t you mention ‎any of the martyrs in your insincere speech? Why didn’t you defend yourself against ‎the crime of killing Egyptians? It was also a chance to sell out your friend Habib Al-‎Adly, [former interior minister], and hold him responsible for the killing of our ‎revolutionary martyrs,” the statement continued in a sarcastic tone.‎

‎“Mubarak agreed on investigating his money after hiding traces of his crimes for over ‎two months … He’s trying to save his son as his speech came before Gamal Mubarak ‎was questioned … but these cunning words could only deceive naïve people.”‎

‎“Why did he choose to broadcast his speech on Al-Arabia Television? It’s a Saudi ‎scheme to save Mubarak, their ally and friend … They convinced him to come up with ‎this speech.”‎

‎“The Alliance of Egyptian Revolutionaries assures that this speech will be harshly replied to, ‎because this plot is obvious and we will not stop calling for his arrest … he must be ‎tried for the killing of the martyrs, whom he didn’t bother to mention in his previous ‎speech, causing many good Egyptians to grow emotional over a month and a half ‎ago.”‎

RE: "Mubarak branded a subtle dictator"
This is sickening. The so called "Alliance of Egyptian Revolutionaries" is apparently turning into a media organization. The only "naive people" in Egypt are those who believe a word of this nonsense by the "Alliance". May God bring swift justice upon those who fuel hatred and propogate lies. And shame on the Ahram for becoming a puppet to these private agendas. '
