Duval County Public Schools
operates 172 schools and serves approximately 123,000
students. The school district is committed to providing
high quality educational opportunities that will inspire
all students to acquire and use the knowledge and skills
needed to succeed in a global economy, and culturally
diverse world. DCPS is divided into four clusters:
Elementary Turnaround Schools,
Elementary Schools,
Secondary Turnaround Schools and
Secondary Schools. The county covers
approximately 841-square miles and is populated by
nearly 800,000 residents.
Duval County Public Schools is governed by a board of
seven elected officials collectively named the
Duval
County School Board (DCSB). The DCSB is responsible
for implementing policies for all education-related
issues in Duval County Public Schools.
