King Abdullah attends Princess Seeta's funeral prayer

RIYADH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, attended the funeral prayer for Princess Seeta bint Abdul Aziz at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque here Thursday.
The funeral was also attended by a large number of princes and senior officials including Prince Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior, Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman and the sons of the late princess Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Muhammad, assistant minister of defense and aviation, Prince Bandar and Prince Turki.
King Abdullah later received condolences.
Princess Seeta, 80, who died on Wednesday after a prolonged illness, had supported many charitable societies in the Kingdom. She also financed research programs for the development of philanthropic activities in the country.
The late princess was a great supporter of charitable and family welfare projects. According to her daughter, Princess Noura bint Abdullah, she used to help poor families without much ado.
"Princess Seeta's death is a big loss," said Noura bint Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, director of social care in the Makkah province. "I used to deal with Princess Seeta to sustain many charitable activities," she said. "Throughout her life Princess Seeta had tried to reach out to the poor wherever they may be," she told Al-Watan.
