Arab League Council agrees to aid Egypt and Tunisia

During an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council in Cairo yesterday, the permanent delegates agreed to provide urgent economic assistance to Egypt and Tunisia in the wake of the upheaval faced by both countries. The assistance will come in the form of deposits into the nations’ central banks and is meant as a gesture of Arab solidarity and support. The Saudi delegation to the session was led by Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Kattan.
