Saif Al-Islam the Oncoming Release of Brotherhood Detainees in Libya

Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, the eldest son of the Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi, and Chairman of GICDF, verifies that the Libyan authorities will release the detainees of the “Muslim Brotherhood” early September.

During his participation in “Behind the News” Program, Gaddafi Jr. noted that the delay in releasing the detainees of the said organization resulted form the procedures of the security services.

The "Mulsim Brotherhood" in Libya welcomed the step noting that “it is not a surprise”. Spokesman of the organization, Nassr El-Mana’, said in a communication from Geneva to Al-Jazeera channel that the “Brotherhood” will take seriously and positively any reform steps.

Al-Mana’ described Saif Al-Islam’s speech in which he criticized the revolutionary committees as significant “because it contains many implications”.

Gaddafi Jr. has previously called to re-open the files that contained violations of human rights in Libya, noting that opening such files will open the door to complete the reconciliation process.

Son of Gaddafi Criticizes the Revolutionary Tribunals and Calls the Libyans Abroad to Come Home

Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, the eldest son of the Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi, and Chairman of GICDF, called to re-open the files that contained human rights violations in Libya, noting that the opening of such files will open the door to complete the reconciliation process.

He also called, during a ceremony aimed at presenting the activities of his Foundation, to the need to compensate those wronged by the revolutionary and the people’s courts, and what he called fake and illegal tribunals.

Gaddafi Jr. extended an invitation to the Libyan residing abroad –those whose properties and wealth was sequestrated- to return back home to regain their rights. He noted that his Foundation is conducting communications with the Libyans abroad to know the reasons of their stay away and to assess their situations.

The director of Libyan external information, Jumaa Abul Khir, said that the statements of the Scion of Gaddafi comes within what he terms as addressing the situations in the country to readjust and correct the circumstances experienced by the march of the Libyan revolution over 37 years of its age.

He clarified in his statements to Al-Jazeera that reforming such conditions comes within the framework of dialogue and popular interaction “to achieve justice, equality and human rights”.

Saif Al-Islam Muammar Gaddafi, Chairman of GICDF Lays the Foundation Stone for a Child Training and Rehabilitation Center in Burkina

Keeping up the efforts undertaken by the GICDF in offering assistance to the needy wherever they are in the world, Saif Al-Islam Muammar Gaddafi, Chairman of the Foundation laid, this evening, the foundation stone for the construction of a Child Training and Rehabilitation Center in the region of Zenari- Burkina, that trains children in various occupations so as to contribute in finding a new job market and to create trained staff for this African country.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Governor of the central region, and the senior Governor for the province of Ouritni, the mayor of Zenari, the Under Secretary for Agriculture and Waters, the General Secretary of the Cen-Sad Community, the chieftains of tribes in Zenari city, the city council’s members, the Secretary of the Libya People’s Bureau and a great crowd of the natives.

The GICDF condemns and replies to a letter by the director of Amnesty International Bureau at the EU

GICDF addressed a letter to Amnesty International Bureau at the EU as regards with the letter of the director of the organization at the EU to the Union Ministers dated Oct. 15, 2007.

The text of the letter:

Dear / Amnesty International Organization,

GICDF has learned about the purport of the letter by Mr. Dick Oosting, director of the organization's office at the EU to the Union Ministers dated October 15, 2007 in which he called to the need that the EU-Libyan relations reflect the organization’s concerns as to the human rights file in the Libya.

Text of the letter:

The Gaddafi International Foundation for Charity Societies and Development expresses its surprise and condemnation of what came in that letter and wishes to underline the following:

Many positive developments have taken place in the human rights file in Libya such as (but not limited to): the release of opinion prisoners, improvement of prison conditions, abrogation of the People’s Tribunal, the return of Libyan to the home country, enabling many international organizations to visit Libya on many occasions, replacing the death penalty pronounced against the Bulgarian medics with life sentences, among other positive developments.

 

 
The International Dialogue of Religions Conference held by GICDF under the Slogan ''Dialogue of Religions for the Sake of Stability and Peaceful Cohabitation in South-Eastern Asia''

The works of the International Dialogue of Religions Conference under the Slogan “Dialogue of Religions for the sake of Stability and Peaceful Cohabitation in south-eastern Asia” started, yesterday, at the World Islamic Call Society (WICS) conference hall in Tripoli.

GICDF organizes this conference in view to consolidate peace and stability and peaceful cohabitation in Thailand and the region of south-eastern Asia.

The conference plenary session was attended by the two heads of the Islamic and Asian departments at the GPCFLIC, and the two secretaries of conferences, boards and relief, media, research and publication bureaus at the World Islamic Call Society.

A number of religious and Islamic leaderships in the Kingdom of Thailand, heads of the Supreme Islamic Council in the governorates of Fitni, Jala, Niratyud in the South of Thailand, and the Dean of the International Academy for Administration and economy in the Filipino city of Makati, the chairman of the Buddhist Foundation, chairman of the National Council in the Kingdom, Chairman of the Islamic Foundation for social and economic development, and the representative of Sheikh Al-Islam, and chairman of the Islamic Foundation in the Kingdom of Thailand.
