The Commonwealth Marketing Office, a state agency, said that it is launching an intern initiative that aims to keep talented young people in Massachusetts.

One constant worry among locals: The cost of living is so high here that college graduates feel compelled to move elsewhere even though they might prefer to stay.

One goal of the new initiative is to alert young people that Massachusetts doesn't want them to move away.

"The Mass Stay Here Internship Site is a comprehensive statewide internship resource that will highlight and increase internship opportunities, and send a clear and consistent message to the Commonwealth's college students and recent graduates that Massachusetts wants you to stay here," the Commonwealth Marketing Office said in a press release.

The Web pages aimed at students can be viewed by clicking here.

Currently, more than 100 internship opportunities are posted on the site, and all companies with Massachusetts-based internships are invited to post and promote their internship opportunities on the site for free, the press release from the Commonwealth Marketing Office added.
