Friday April 22, 2011
Panoply Arts Festival is held each year in downtown Huntsville in April. The word Panoply (pa-nə-plē) comes from the Greek panoplia and means "a magnificent or impressive array". Panoply Arts Festival is for the kids and has many free "make & take" activities. There are also many displays of art for sale from local and regional artists. There is live entertainment on several stages throughout the festival grounds. Taylor Hicks is performing on Sunday night!

Make the Most of Holy Week

Wednesday April 20, 2011
With over 100 churches in the Huntsville/Madison County area, there is a wide variety of opportunities to experience some unique and moving services during Holy Week. Here are the religious ceremonies and services that help people meditate and appreciate the true meaning of Easter. Some activities are just for fun, like the many Easter Egg Hunts for the kids. Some are social, like the many Easter Brunches to chose from after church on Sunday. If you're going to be cooking, then you might want to browse Diana Rattray's Southern Food site for her special Easter menus with recipes. No matter what your plans are for this Easter, I hope you spend time with your family and enjoy the holiday.
