Sitemap accepted but not indexed in Google News Report abuse

Hi,

Need help with the following issue.

1. My site was Google News approved for over one-and-half-year : www.mizoramexpress.com

2. Google News stopped indexing from April 5, 2011

3. Submitted a Sitemap on April 13, 2011 after adding WWW in the url http://WWW.mizoramexpress.com since Google Sitemap requires WWW

4. No errors in sitemap.

5. My sitemap http://www.mizoramexpress.com/sitemap.xml

Have i done something wrong? Why is Google News not indexing my site till now? Do i have to re-submit for Google News?

I'm at a loss here. http://mizoramexpress.com/ appears in Google News, so I don't know what to tell you. Sorry, if I was a Google Employee I could help you more, but I'm not. As to whether your hear from one, I couldn't even begin to answer that. I would update this thread each day until you get some kind of answer or resolve the problem. From here on out I don't really think I can offer you any more support -- I'm limited to what I can do.

That's not a Google News Sitemap. Because you use WordPress, I suggest looking into the following plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-news-sitemap-generator/

XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.2.4 plugin.Is this not a Google News sitemap plugin?Can you please answer my previous questions as well.

XML Sitemap is primarily for Google Bot [Search Engines]. Google News Sitemap is for the Google News Bot. You need both. Submit the Google News Sitemap to Google Webmasters once you add it.

I have installed the plugin. Pls guide me on how to submit the Google News sitemap.

DO i have to resubmit for Google News request as my site was already Google News approved and stopped indexing on April 5 only.

no, you don't have to resubmit google news inclusion unless you were rejected.

You can find google news sitemap at URL.com/google-news-sitemap.xml

Do i need to submit at Google Webmaster and if yes how and where?

You must submit it in Google Webmasters in the same location where sitemap.xml was submitted.

Hi cacheup,
So i now have two sitemaps:-
1. http://www.mizoramexpress.com/google-news-sitemap.xml
2. http://www.mizoramexpress.com/sitemap.xml

Won't this cause any problems? I have entered both of them. When can i expect Google News to index my site.

Once Google News Bot crawls the sitemap, your articles should be indexed.

That can be checked by inputting site:http://www.mizoramexpress.com/ on news.google.com

Got an error message after using Sitemap: http://www.mizoramexpress.com/google-news-sitemap.xml

Unknown news site

Your Sitemap is on a site that is not in the Google News database. Google News can only accept Sitemaps from sites that we crawl. If your site is crawled by Google News, please check that the URL of your Sitemap agrees with the URLs of your articles as they appear on Google News, including any leading "www". If you would like to request inclusion of your site in Google News, please contact the Google News support team.

What should i do now?

This shows my site was crawled...weeks ago. I'm now almost clueless. :)

You have to submit the non-www http://mizoramexpress.com/google-news-sitemap.xml

Your site is NOT being crawled because you switched to WWW and that is not in the system.

Bad move on your part. Your options are to contact Google News Team or switch back.

But while submitting Google Sitemap... Google asked for WWW else it cannot accept the sitemap.

So, should i change my domain in Wp back to just mizoramexpress.com without putting WWW

Will this be enough to bring back my site for indexing (automatically) by Google News?

It should be. You submitted your site without WWW so you will need to continue without WWW. I have submitted a google news sitemap and I never had to put WWW, nor did it request WWW. Your website should be non-www. Change it in WordPress Admin -> Settings -> Options

I have updated the Google News categories with the WWW ... so, do i need to change .

So you are suggesting i revert back to mizoramexpress.com ?

Sould i also change the Google News Sitemap http://www.mizoramexpress.com/google-news-sitemap.xml to http://mizoramexpress.com/google-news-sitemap.xml

and, Google Stemap http://www.mizoramexpress.com/sitemap.xml to http://mizoramexpress.com/sitemap.xml ?

Will this really help..i'm now confused.

Let's take this back a step further. When you submitted your site to Google News, what URL did you submit? http://mizoramexpress.com/ or it's www- counterpart?

If you submitted the non-www version, then yes, you will need to revert back to the non-www version of the site.

I already know its the non-www version. My question is why you switched. Your switch is the obvious mistake here as to why your articles have not been crawled since April 4.

Thanks for the tip. But, the site was not crawled since April 4. It was only on april 20 that i changed the domain with WWW version.

Anyways, thanks so much. I will revert the whole process to mizoramexpress.com without WWW. After dong this should i resummit the Google search sitemap as well as Google News Sitemap?

Hi, Back to the beginning.

i have revert the domain to just mizoramexpress.com

I got the Google sitemap as http://mizoramexpress.com/sitemap.xml and entered it into webmaster.

What will be the Google News Sitemap address?

Do I have to enter it it Google webmaster?

Please note: It could take up to a few days before the Google News Bot is able to crawl and index your articles again.

How come your permalink structure includes "index.php"? For example:

http://mizoramexpress.com/index.php/2011/04/india-successfully-launches-pslv-satellites/

Will i lost the links to the earlier links that have "index.php" ?

If you change your permalinks, you would have to setup a redirect. In addition, I'm wondering how that would affect your site in terms of Google News.

hi again, :)

1. for eg if you just google "Illustrated history of mankind" which was posted while index.php was used as permalink. you will still get access to the post... or are you? as i'm getting it redirected. as far as i know i have not set up that redirection. is google redirecting it?

2. Do i have to submit Google News sitemap http://mizoramexpress.com/google-news-sitemap.xml in Webmaster?

By the way is http://mizoramexpress.com/google-news-sitemap.xml the correct news sitemap as i'm getting error message
