Tuesday April 19, 2011

Here are some of the what kids had to say:

Golf: I think a reasonable job for a 13 your old kid would be picking up golf balls at a driving range. - Alex

Dog Walker: I always wanted to be a dog walker because I love dogs. - Maira

Pet Watching: I want to get a new bike. It costs $520. I am only ten years old. - Aletheia

Can Your Kids Have a Roth IRA?

Tuesday April 5, 2011

The quick answer is yes. Of course, there's a little more to it.

Some things to be aware of when opening a Roth IRA for Kids:

  • There is no minimum age for a Roth IRA, but your child must have taxable earned income to contribute.
  • Interest and dividends do not count as income to fund an IRA.
  • You can contribute to your child's IRA, he doesn't have to use his own income to fund the IRA.

You can review all of the requirements in Roth IRAs for Kids.
