Mozilla has released Firefox 4.0.1, which fixes a number of critical security and stability issues. Firefox 4 came out last month, advertised to be up to six times faster than the previous version. Ubuntu 11.04 Released

The latest version of Ubuntu, code named Natty Narwhal, features Ubuntu's own Unity as the default desktop environment in place of Gnome, the default in previous releases. Ubuntu 11.04 includes LibreOffice 3.3.2, Firefox 4, and Python 2.7. For more information see the Natty features page. PlayOnLinux Adds Portal 2 Support

PlayOnLinux is a collection of free software for installing games and other applications that were developed for Microsoft Windows on Linux systems. Like CrossOver Games, it is based on the compatibility layer Wine and includes various Bash and Python scripts that help with the installation of MS Windows applications. Installation scripts are available for hundreds of Games including the most popular ones.
The most recent addition is support for Portal 2, a sequel to the popular puzzle game Portal and playing 100 years further in the future. PlayOnLinux can be downloaded for all major Linux distributions.

Developers have released Marble 1.1, which implements a model of the earth and provides a world atlas linked to various additional sources of information such as Wikipedia. It is in some ways similar to Google Earth, but is more targeted towards educational applications.
