U2 Concert Rescheduled for May 21

U2 has rescheduled its Denver stop for the U2 360 Tour on Saturday, May 21, 2011. The concert, originally slated for June 12, 2010, was postponed due to lead singer Bono's back surgery. The Irish rockers are back to form, however, and will visit Invesco Field in less than two weeks. Colorado natives The Fray will open for U2, and some tickets are still available, according to the U2 website. Ticket-holders who cannot attend the rescheduled concert can receive a refund.

Art Museum Free on Saturday

The Denver Art Museum will hold its monthly free day on Saturday, May 7, 2011. Admission is complimentary for Colorado residents with a current driver's license or other state-issued identification. The free day is underwritten by a .01% Scientific & Cultural Facilities District tax. Exhibits on display at the Denver Art Museum include "Cities of Splendor: A Journey Through Renaissance Italy." The museum located at 100 W. 14th Ave. Pkwy is open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates a battle between Mexico and France on the morning of May 5, 1862 at Puebla, Mexico. Located 100 miles east of Mexico City, the city of Puebla witnessed a victory for the Mexican troops under the command of General Zaragosa. One hundred and forty-nine years later, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated as a festival of Mexican culture, art and music across the U.S. Denver holds one of the country's largest festivals, Cinco in the Park, this weekend at Civic Center Park to commemorate the 5th of May.
