Is Susan Lucci Heading to Desperate Housewives?

Saturday April 23, 2011

The ladies of Wisteria Lane better hold on to their husbands -- Susan Lucci may be heading to Desperate Housewives next season!

Now that ABC has axed All My Children and One Life to Live, naturally people are wondering where their favorite soap stars will land once the shows are over. Lucci is easily the one of the most well-known stars of the bunch and recently some conflicting reports are making their way through the rumor mill about the popular actress...

The New York Post reports that an ABC insider stated that a deal is in place for Lucci to appear on Desperate Housewives this fall. The report goes so far as to state that when the series begins production in July, Lucci will pull double duty on both shows until All My Children wraps up in August.

On the other end of the spectrum, TV Line reports that a DH insider has specifically stated "there's no truth at all" to Lucci coming to Desperate Housewives and that the idea had not even been discussed.

As someone who grew up watching All My Children, I would love to see Susan Lucci move to primetime. I think she would make a perfect addition to the cast. Would you like to see the famous soap star come to Wisteria Lane as a brand new character... or perhaps as Erica Kane?

The Good Wife Retains Alan Cumming For Three Years

Tuesday April 19, 2011

House may have the snarkiest doctor on television, but The Good Wife's political strategist Eli Gold comes in a close second -- and it looks like he is going to stick around a few more years to make sure all of Peter Florrick's dirty little secrets stay hidden.

According to TV Line, Alan Cumming has just signed a three-year contract to remain on The Good Wife through season 5. Cumming first appeared in season one to help Peter Florrick repair his shattered public image and then went on to become a series regular this season to help Peter win the race for State Attorney.

So now that Peter has won the election, what is going to keep Eli on the payroll for three more years? In the last episode, the subject of Peter running for the U.S. Senate was broached, so perhaps Eli will be staying on to keep those political wheels turning. Another possibility -- Diane running for a judgeship was also recently brought up and I can't think of a better person to help make that happen.

In Other Good Wife Casting News...

As if Michael J. Fox, Jerry Stiller and America Ferrera guest starring this season wasn't enough, funny lady Sarah Silverman is set to appear in the May 10 episode as the owner of an adultery website accused of murdering one of her clients. Should make for an entertaining episode!
