Why More GNU Graphics?

All GNU projects have a logo or graphical representation and therefore some might think there is no need for additional art. But, I did not find any sources of advertising buttons. Most of the graphics already available are not in the standard online advertising dimensions. I believe there is a need for these types of graphics.

If a webmaster had a readily available source of advertising graphics, they might be inclined to include them on their web site and link back to GNU's website. Because of their small size (and standard size), they can very easily be integrated on web sites that already contain advertising buttons.

This would allow for another avenue of promoting GNU software. Web surfers will see these buttons and might click on them and be directed back to the appropriate GNU page and learn more about the large contributions of the GNU Projects.

The following buttons are not the most original designs, but they should prove useful (remember, I am a techie not an artist).

The Beauty of Free

There are several sources of GNU art on various websites. Others with more artistic ability than me have generously created them.

I did not create these buttons from scratch! Because the underlying graphics have been released under licenses (GPL or Free Art License) that allow others to modify, I have been able to create the following (hopefully useful) buttons. These derivative works are also licensed under the GPL or Free Art License.
